DescriptionGraham's piece is a large hyper-closeup on a woman's face that almost appears to be a blank canvas when viewed up close, but gradually resolves itself into a hazy, but distinguishable image as the viewer moves further away. Graham creates the faded, gauzy effect in this and her other works by applying paint to the white canvas and then scraping it away to create lighter values.
