Anna Williams was born in Ottawa, ON. and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. Williams’ sculptures employ the animal and narrative to examine the construction and manipulation of identity in contemporary society. The artist has had solo shows in across Canada, in addition to participating in numerous group shows both nationally and internationally. Her works have been purchased by the Canada Council Art Bank, the Bank of Canada, the City of Ottawa, and the Femme Art Fund, as well as numerous national and international private collections. In addition, Williams has been awarded numerous public commissions for artworks including projects for Aimia and the City of Ottawa. She is represented by L. A. Pai Gallery in Ottawa, ON.
