Work • Forest of Toilet Papers
Artwork Description •
The work consists of a single tree surrounded by a group of stumps with toilet paper sitting on top. I wanted to communicate the message that this is what the toilet paper industry is doing to our forests. Trees are being chopped down at an alarming rate instead of utilizing recycled paper for toilet paper production. I created this artwork for Ontario Nature's action alert to attract attention to the toilet paper industry and how using new paper damages the environment. Ontario Nature has a running campaign where they call visitors to sign a petition to encourage the use of recycled paper in toilet paper making. The illustration is used in the petitions main page. I used Adobe Illustrator for this work.
