**DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MARCH 13TH**
In partnership with Siemens Canada we're excited to announce the first Siemens Art Call! We're asking students to create artworks that speak to the theme of Technology with Purpose and what it means to them. How can technology shape our collective future? What role does technology play in the transformation of our society and economy? How can we solve tomorrow’s challenges by using technology? Running from January to Early March, this art call is open to all current Humber College and University of Guelph-Humber students to create brand new artworks in any physical medium. Whether it be a painting, a photograph, any genre or medium that is able to be printed and/or installed in a frame is welcomed.
Three of the submitted artworks will be selected to become a part of the Siemens Canada's Corporate Art Collection, will be displayed publicly in their offices, and awarded a $1500 honourarium. These winning works will be selected by a panel of Siemens and Humber College staff and winners will be contacted and announced in early April.
About the theme "Technology with Purpose":
Technology is more important than ever and drives of transformation and key to shaping it. As a focused technology company, Siemens creates technology that empowers its customers to positively transform the industries that form the backbone of our economies – industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare - by connecting the real and the digital worlds to make manufacturing cleaner, infrastructure more energy efficient, provide access to clean energy, transit smarter and healthier for the planet.
Technology with Purpose means innovation that helps address and solve society's most pressing challenges and transform our everyday lives, for example: building a sustainable future to combat climate change.
